This is the place to get your Sunday roast!! Five of us headed over from Diss last Sunday for the first time, as we had family visiting. Such a relief to find a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, nice and cosy too. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. It felt like the landlord is fantastic at running the place, he was lovely to deal with and was kind enough to show us some of the history of the pub when we had asked him about it. We will definitely head back (there's a Curry night on a Wednesday I believe) and I reckon places like this who put the effort in deserve every single customer they can get :)

Another lovely meal here. Sunday lunch this time. Service a little slow this time but they were very busy and we didn't really mind as its a lovely place with great atmosphere. Down to earth and friendly.

I'd recently had a Sunday roast with my Wife here so I had no qualms about booking a table for a family get together (7 adults and 1 child).
A truly great experience. Upon arrival we were made to feel so welcome by the friendly staff. There's a great choice of beers and wines in this lovely timbered village pub. We went straight into the Sunday roast (choice of beef or chicken on this particular Sunday and we opted for both) which was piping hot and cooked to perfection. A nice selection of desserts as well which I'd recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Service was professional, everything is clean and neat and the pub exudes an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness. Very good value for money as well.
Winfarthing fighting cocks I cannot praise you enough. Thankyou, we will be back. Date of visit: 30/04/2023.

A proper pub - well worth a visit. You can safely judge a pub on the quality of its ale and Guinness; The Fighting Cocks serves great examples of both, as well as a fine selection of lagers, spirits and soft drinks. The food is lovely, but we warned - the portions are large. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch, which you will need to book a table for because it gets really busy, and the burgers. The curry is delicious and the salmon smells fantastic, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. If puddings are your bag, go for the brownie. They also have something on at least once pretty much every weekend - if you like live music, quizzes, or karaoke they've got you covered. Also very dog friendly.

A really great country pub. Had a beautiful sausage baguette with some of the best chips ever, served by friendly and accommodating staff. The pub itself is all original wood beams with an inglenook fireplace and log burner. Also I think it has a campsite but only for members of the caravan club. Other diners food seemed similarly appreciated. Will definitely be back

We had two delicious meals while staying at the campsite behind the pub, which is very cosy and very friendly, lovely staff, so helpful and go above and beyond to help. The campsite is a lovely large field with plenty of space, we are looking forward to our next visit!

Nice friendly welcome and a pleasant friendly place.
Menu is quite small but good dishes.
There is no weight on the rump or sirloin steaks but when my rump came out it was massive!
Well worth the menu price.

Excellent family friendly, cosy pub.
Highly recommended, inviting atmosphere, brilliant staff, great food and beautiful surroundings. Public houses of this calibre help keep community spirit alive , and a definite pit stop for those wishing to experience the comforts and quality of an outstanding local pub. Highly recommended. 😋😁
